Separate Ground floor apartment in private seafront villa.
This comfortable apartment with a large glass conservatory is situated on the sea front - the only thing obscuring a view of the sea are the sand dunes. There is a courtyard with a built-in BBQ shaded by a mature mulberry tree, and the villa has a surrounding wall with a gate which makes it ideal for a family with one or two young children.
The villa itself is in the residential quarter of Portiragnes plages but one can easily walk to the local shops, restaurants and cafés.
The owners live on top floor, however they both work and are out most of the day.

This ground floor part of the villa is just across the road from the sandy mediterranean beaches. It is comfortably furnished and the kitchen is well equipped.
The spacious glass conservatory with a coffee table and a couple of easy chairs - flowering hibiscus plants give it a tropical feel.
French doors lead from the conservatory into a comfortable living room with a convertable sofa-bed and two armchairs (there is a wooden staircase leading to 'upstairs' part which has been closed off.)
Three steps lead down from the living room into the kitchen. It is well equipped for four people and the dining table seats four. Large sliding glass doors lead to the conservatory.
Two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a double bed (140cm), the other has two single beds. A cot is available on request.
There is a bathroom with a small bath and shower attachment and a separate WC.

There is a 24m2 veranda and a walled courtyard with a gate that one can shut which makes it ideal for a family with young children.
There is a built-in BBQ and a large stone table and benches shaded by a mature mulberry tree.
In the courtyard, at the side of the house there is a staircase leading up to the owner's apartment on the second floor, but the owners are very discreet - they both work and run a vineyard so the guests have the run of the place to themselves. Normally, there is a car parking space just outside the house. |

The villa is situated right on the sea front in a residential area separated from the beach only by a narrow road and some sand dunes. It is at the 'family' end of Portiragnes plage - bicycles, wind surf and sea pedalo hire (June to September only), and lots of little markets and stalls which set out their wares in the morning, including a colourful and lively fruit and vegetable market, at the restaurant and café end of Portiragnes.
On a clear day one can see Mont Canigou in the Pyrenees rearing out of the sea, as well as the Cap d'Agde headland to the east. The stretch of beach by the property is relatively quiet.
Portiragnes Plage Centre 400m walk by road (or beach): baker, grocer, restaurants, bicycle hire, tennis, horse riding.
Portiragnes Village 4 km. All services.
Agde 18 km. Old historic town and fishing port, founded by the Ancient Phoenicians. Nice market, excellent seafood restaurants. Cap d'Agde (Aqualand huge water slides, nautical adventure), boat marina, restaurants, nightclubs, 27 hole golf course.
Beziers 12 km. Major market town, noted for its bullfight 'Feria' in August.
Pezenas 35 km. Attractive medieval town.
Narbonne 38 km. Famous cathedral. Once capital of Roman Gaul.
Montpellier 75 km. Large university town.
Carcassonne 98 km Largest fortified medieval town in Europe.
Nimes 110 km Roman temple and arena.
Perpignan 115 km Palace of the kings of Mallorca.
