Stunning 19th Century Languedoc Roussillon Chateau with 8 bedrooms
This Chateau is perfect for a large family holiday in France, the spacious interior has amazing original features, traditional furniture, marble staircase and lots of rooms to explore. The modern touches like WI-FI, and a large swimming pool ensure that there is something for everyone on holiday in the South of France.
The swimming pool is 13m x 5m, so plenty big enough for lengths!
Maureilhan the nearby village has local shops, pharmacy, bar and a restaurant.
A choice of beaches can be found 20 minutes away, along with restaurants and supermarkets.

Family Holiday Chateau to sleep 15
The interior of this authentic South of France Chateau ideal for family vacations is very spacious with 8 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, and lots of different living areas.
Garden level
The grand entrance hall has a winding marble staircase, off to the right is a small tv salon with a tv connected to the internet. Further along is a living room area with sofas and French doors out onto the garden and the pool.
The large spacious living room offers access to the pool terrace and the grounds via the French doors. The main features are the marble fireplace, large wooden doors and the lovely old parquet floor. Plenty of seating - a rattan 3 seater sofa, chairs and numerous bean bags.
An independent wc and sink is off the long corridor which leads to the kitchen and breakfast room.
The Breakfast room is very cosy and has a dining table for 8, along with a sink, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge and lots of lovely old cupboards.
The Kitchen is traditional and the 2 large windows which look onto the courtyard offer natural light. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need for a holiday, gas cooker, oven, microwave etc. A dining table for 6.
To the left of the hallway and next door to the kitchen and the breakfast room is a large formal dining room.
The grand marble staircase is in 3 sections and has around 25 steps to each floor, the staircase is very wide and enclosed to the right so safe for the very young and the old.
First floor
A second sitting room with comfortable furniture, marble floors, views over to the garden and pool and French doors that open onto the pond side of the house.
A corridor leads to the 1st bedroom with 2 single beds (200cm x 90cm) that can be put together to make a large double.
2nd Bedroom (Master family room) - A very large grand bedroom, with a double bed, large marble fireplace, views over the gardens and pool/pond. A tiny room with a single bed ideal for a child makes this an ideal family room. Furnished in typical Chateau style.
Next door and with an entrance from the corridor is the bathroom, with a bath and overhead shower, sink and wc.
Second floor
Large landing, off which is a bathroom for bedrooms 3 and 4 to share, with a small bath, overhead shower and wc.
Along the corridor to the left there are 3 further bedrooms:
Bedroom 3 - A very large bedroom with 2 single beds (can be put together to make a double), wardrobes and a ceiling fan, communicates with Bedroom 4 which also has 2 single beds (can also be put together to make a double), wardrobes and a ceiling fan and both rooms have views over to the pond.
Bedroom 5 - (2nd Master bedroom) 2 Single beds, ceiling fan, period wall fabric and curtains along with beautiful high ceilings and lovely terracotta tiles remind you of the Chateau's grandeur. An en-suite bathroom offers the modern touch. Walk-in shower, sink and wc.
To the right of the landing there are 3 further bedrooms:
Bedroom 6 - 2 Single beds, ceiling fan, a very large airy room with a marble floor.
Bedroom 7 - 2 Single beds, that can be put together to make a double, ceiling fan.
Bedroom 8 - A double bed, large marble fireplace and views over the garden.
There is an independent wc and shower room with shower and period double sink for bedrooms 6, 7 and 8 to share.

Private parking in the front courtyard inside remote control property gates. The front courtyard is shared with another small property. The grounds, terrace and pool are totally private, on the other side of the house.
The English speaking house manager can arrange catering, shopping, cooking classes, excursions etc
This lovely holiday Chateau in the South of France is set within almost 5 acres of land and well maintained gardens, it is more like living in a park!
There are lawned areas, terraces and look out for the amazing stone features including statues and an Injalbert fountain.
The 13m x 5m pool is surrounded by a natural stone terrace, with deck-chairs, and a large dining table.
Pool was designed for swimming and for ball games with two shallow ends and a deeper centre, nets and balls provided. Remote controlled hard cover for child safety. Easy access by roman steps at each end.
Lots of space for volleyball, badminton, table tennis and Petanque
Within the grounds there is also a shallow pond (please take care with children).
Open countryside is on the doorstep, ideal for a morning jog or bike ride.
Access to the property is down a pretty drive, however you do have to pass a small industrial estate, and depending upon the wind direction some road noise may be heard at the Chateau.
This South of France holiday Chateau is on the edge of Maureilhan, a typical Languedoc-Roussillon wine village, village shops, post office, family bar-restaurant.
Capestang, apprx 13km, on the Canal du Midi, a lovely village with restaurants, shops, bars, cafes.
Beziers apprx 10km. The cathedral dominates this busy market town (amazing flower market on a Friday), rising majestically above the river Orb. There are plently of great restaurants, independent shops and the famous Galeries Lafayette, the nine locks on the Canal du Midi are worth a visit.
A wide choice of Mediterranean beaches apprx 10-16km.
Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc apprx 20km North of Thezan are the mountains and rocky gorges of the Caroux mountains. Great canoeing on the river Orb. Great for a change of scenery and climate for a day.
Agde apprx 43km. Old historic town and fishing port, founded by the Ancient Greeks. Nice market, excellent seafood restaurants.
Cap d'Agde apprx 40km. 'Aqualand' (huge water-slides, etc.)

The Chateau is wonderful, good facilities, lovely pool. Relaxing atmosphere and great location close to bars, cafes, local vineyards and beaches.
