A lovely and relaxing 2 weeks at the most beautiful villa! An amazing spacious villa that has been perfect for our family with plenty of space for us all. We absolutely loved the swimming pool and were in it every day! Our holiday was made even more special by our attentive host, who made us feel very welcome with some lovely wines and bread, spoilt us with breakfast pastries and we enjoyed a delicious meal at 'Le Pourquoi Pas'. The location was brilliant, we enjoyed walking to the bakery daily and enjoyed days out in nearby villages, though most of the time we were just enjoying the villa! Thank you so much for such an enjoyable holiday! SFV Client, Family B, June 2024.

A lovely couple of weeks in the sunny South of France, thank you for your hospitality, help, recommendations and the regular deliveries of sweet treats and bread. We really enjoyed getting our on the bikes and found some lovely routes to neighbouring Capestang, Montady and Colombiers. Thank you for the lovely meal at Pourquoi pas it is a lovely setting for dinner. The local feria in Beziers was great fun and an exciting celebration to go an experience. We certainly have a new found love for Saint Chinian wine after our visit to the cave for a tasting. Thank you again from all of us. Family S, South France Villas client August 2023
We all made it home safe and sound and I just wanted to write to thank you. After a 3 year delay, thank you for the most wonderful holiday for our whole family (which grew during that time!). We have loved living in your beautiful house and swimming in the fab pool, but most of all, the air of tranquility after a turbulent 3 years of Covid. You are very attentive to your guests and we were very grateful for the cheese, wine, croissants and bread you left us.Our meal at Pourqoi Pas was fabulous and we thank you, it was a wonderful treat on our last night. The food was the best we had on our entire vacation. Yum yum! So, a big thank you for a wonderful vacation from all four families, it was just what we all needed, to finally be together and let everyone know about our newest member, baby Eddie! Thank you! South France Villas Client, August 2022.
A wonderful house, great pool and lovely gardens. We've had an excellent, peaceful and relaxing week. Thank you so much to the owners! Family E, July 2022.
We have just returned from a week staying at this lovely villa which, as the other reviews state is very clean, well-equipped and laid out to give plenty of room and personal space to all occupants. There were 5 adults in our party but there was plenty of room for 8 adults plus. The main room was cool and roomy with a large luxury bathroom and ante-room (with a single bed). Two other (connecting) rooms, both with their own en suites and seating areas were in a separate building with air conditioning and a third room, also with air conditioning and an en suite was in a third building resulting in as much privacy as you wish. The sitting room had 3 sofas, the dining room a large table and there was plenty of room in the two kitchen areas with a lovely range cooker (if you plan to do any cooking). The pool area is lovely with different seating/lounging areas in a Moroccan style, a summer kitchen/barbecue and outside shower. The owner stopped by early a couple of mornings (without waking anyone) to clean and check the pool. Getting into the pool itself was a bit of a challenge as the water was a bit on the cool side for us softie Brits but nice once you were in! The owner was extremely kind and helpful and spoiled us with a lovely apple tart, bread, cheese and wine on arrival plus deliveries of delicious pastries during our stay. We didn't stray too far from the villa as we weren't there long but it was well placed for trips to Beziers and further afield to Montpellier and Carcassonne plus the gorges, caves, etc. The surrounding area is a wine-growing region so plenty of vines and pretty countryside. The villa neighbourhood seems to be mostly residential and Maureilhan itself was a pleasant village with a few shops and pizza restaurant. All in all, we would thoroughly recommend this villa for a lovely holiday. Mrs W, South France Villa's client September 2019
We have just had a really enjoyable stay at Bastide Maia, it was the most perfect villa with a beautiful large heated pool. The accommodation was a perfect layout for our party of 6 adults (3 couples)with our own individual space and was so well equipped with everything we could have ever needed as well as being spotlessly clean. The location is excellent too with an easy walk to the quaint, authentic local village with a great boulangerie and pizzeria. the owners were the most lovely people, so polite and kind with a great laid back attitude to renting out their gorgeous house. Philippe kept delivering breakfast for us and one day left us a delicious tarte aux pommes. He went out of his way to make sure we had a brilliant time and genuinely cared about us. I can't recommend the villa enough it was beautiful. The service offered by South France Villas is also excellent as Yvonne found this villa for me after we had spoken on the phone about my requirements which were fully met. We would love to stay at Bastide Maia again one day. Superb. Thank you. June 2019
Just like to say thank you for a wonderful stay at Villa Bastide Maia. A fabulous property, immaculately presented throughout and well equipped. After meeting the owner on arrival, we were given a guided tour of the accommodation and all that it has to offer. Having separate buildings, each with its own private facilities added to the comfort we experienced during our stay. The welcome pack of cheese, wine and bread was excellent, as were the breakfast pastries. A big thank you to the owner. Would definitely recommend this property to all and will look forward to staying here again when we return to the South of France. Family T, September/October 2018
I just wanted to leave you some feedback about the villa and Owner. We were spoiled rotten by the Owner, who was the most attentive host we have ever experienced by a country mile. He drowned us in wine, gorged us with deliveries of fruit and croissants, and was extremely thoughtful to ensure that all our needs were taken care of. The house itself was absolutely beautiful. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to other families looking for a base from which to explore the area. Many thanks indeed for a wonderful break. Spencer Family, July/August 2018
Villa HE093A Myself and a group of friends are just back from a week in this wonderful villa. The villa was wonderful. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you can possibly need. Philippe, the owner is a fantastic host. The bread cheese and wine he left for us on arrival was totally unexpected, but very enjoyable. He also provided us with croissants for breakfast twice during the week. The villa is very spacious and is ideal for families or groups of friends. It is ideally situated, as there are lots of places to visit within a 20-30 minute drive. I would definately recommend this villa. Anne. visited May 2018
What a wonderful villa, everything you would need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Very well equipped and great for family or friends group. Location was spot on and had some stunning drives out, amazing where you can get to and see within 30 minutes. Philippe was a lovely guy, great welcome pack and went out of his way to get us freshly cooked pizzas when we arrived as well as midweek croissants. All in all a beautiful villa and is on our list to return in a few years. Antony, June 2017
The villa was spotlessly clean, was well equipped and in a good location to enable us to explore the area. The rooms are ideal for a mixed family group and our grandson loved swimming in the pool. The welcome pack of wines, bread and cheeses was very nice too and the midweek delivery of fresh croissants was an extra nice touch.Jane, May/June 2017
A very warm welcome and a beautiful house. We were impressed and well looked after. We will definitely be recommending your home to our friends and family.Alyson, May 2017
Had an amazing holiday and would definitely come back. The owner was wonderful and kind, and very helpful. Aircon in two bedrooms welcome and only negative was aircon wasn't in poolside room... We were fine but in summer could be an issue for someone... The main house bedroom no aircon but cool as no expose to afternoon sun. Definitely a wonderful location.. Excellent walks around the vineyards in the mornings, and great for getting to Narbonne, Carcassone etc. All round excellent and would happily return! Thank you ! Family R, South France Villas clients July 2016 SFV update - The owner has now installed air-con in the poolside room August 2016
