This large Maison de Maitre in Languedoc dates back to the 18th century, and is situated in a village between Pezenas and Clermont l'Herault. The holiday property has been beautifully renovated with a modern kitchen and elegant dining and living rooms. It retains many original features such as the high ceilings, beautiful marble fireplaces and a traditional stone staircase, but with all modern comforts.

The living room and kitchen open onto a tiled terrace at the back with a barbecue and dining table. There is a splendid chestnut tree, where in the summer a large outside table can accommodate up to 12 for alfresco dining. An opening from this area leads to the heated pool, lawn, and a further terrace and pergola. The heated pool is fully gated and fenced, so excellent for families with small children.

The holiday villa is situated in the village, which has a shop, a cafe-restaurant and post office, with a pretty square, and is well known for its wonderful location on the river Herault, perfect for swimming, sunbathing and barbecues. It is very close to the wonderful medieval town of Pezenas, with its many shops and award winning restaurants, not far from Clermont l'Herault and only approx 20 minutes drive to th South of France coast. Perfect location to explore the Languedoc region of South of France.

*Outside of July and August it is possible to have 'flexible rental periods'; i.e. not Saturday to Saturday and anything from 5 days to 10 days.

This charming, beautifully Maison de Maitre has been transformed into a 6 bedroomed holiday villa, within walking distance of a typical Languedoc village.

Ground Floor:

Off the main hallway, with its woodburning stove, is a well-equipped modern kitchen and an elegant dining room which leads straight out to the paved terrace and garden with pool. Also off the hallway is the lounge, which has an open fireplace and large comfortable sofas and armchairs. The living room also leads straight into the garden.

First floor:

Stairs from the ground floor lead up to the first floor landing off which there are 3 bedrooms, 1 with a large double bed, 1 with a double bed and a single bed & a cot, and 1 with a double bed. Also on this floor is a large luxurious beautifully decorated bathroom with a central bath, wash basin, toilet, bidet & corner shower.

Second floor:

Stairs lead from the floor below to a wooden floored area. There are 3 attic bedrooms on this floor, 1 with 2 single beds, 1 with a double bed, and 1 with a double and a single bed. There is a bathroom with a washbasin, bath with shower overhead, and toilet.

The Languedoc holiday villa is situated in the village and is just a few minutes walk from the shop, cafe, a small family restaurant and post office.

The 800m2 garden is lawned, with beautiful horse chestnut tree providing welcome shade over the terrace and dining area just outside the kitchen and living room.

Portable BBQ

The heated pool (heated by a pump which raises the temperature by 6 degrees - not available all year round) is in a lawned area with a further terrace and pergola. This part of the garden is separated from the 'eating terrace' with a lockeable gate, so is effectively fenced.

There is off road parking for 3 cars at the property.

Holiday Villa in Languedoc well placed to explore this part of the South of France

Approx 14km away from this holiday villa is Pezenas, a picturesque market town with a beautiful medieval and Renaissance centre with narrow winding streets, and many galleries and working craft shops like glass blowers and jewellers. A wide choice of good restaurants. Colourful market on Saturday mornings. All services, supermarkets.

Clermont l'Herault with its traditional Wednesday market is approx 10km, the central esplanade is a great coffee stop for people watching.

Villeneuvette (a manufacturing village from olden days) is worth a visit, approx 6km away from Clermont l'Herault.

Beziers Golf St Thomas (18 holes): approx 30km.

Mediterranean beaches less than 40 minutes drive.

Agde approx 34km. Old historic town and fishing port, founded by the Ancient Greeks. Nice market, excellent seafood restaurants.

Cap d'Agde approx 42km.

Beziers approx 38 km Large market town, renowned for its colourful 'Feria' in August (street music, carnival, bull-fights).

Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc approx. 42km away are the mountains and rocky gorges of the Caroux mountains. Great canoeing on the river Orb.
