The swimming pool is a great size at 5 metres by 11 metres, it is 1.30 to 1.75 deep. There is an electric cover to keep the heat in and reduce evaporation. A fence is installed when guests are at the villa.
The terrace has covered and open parts so if you like the sun or the shade there are options for both. The view from the terrace is fantastic over the the etang and Mediterranean. (When Sandra visited she wanted to stay there all day!)
You can see the train line in the distance that goes to Spain, however it looks like a model train and is inaudible.
Dining table to seat 8, plenty of sunloungers and a sail is installed in the summer for shade.
There is a separate smaller terrace to the side of the house with a small breakfast table.
The garden to the side has synthetic grass and Mediterranean plants.
A covered area has a sink, work surface along with the gas BBQ and an additional dining table for 6.

Beaches - there are numerous beaches and ports within easy driving distance such as Port-La-Nouvelle, Leucate, La Franqui, Le Barcares and Canet all offering a good choice of bars and restaurants ranging from tourist restaurants to those with Michelin stars. During the season some renowed beach clubs can be found in Leucate Plage & neighbouring resorts.
The water that you can see from the villa is a national park and has a designated water sports section.
Port-La-Nouvelle (10km) - It is an operating port and has plans to make its mark in the South of France, however the best thing about Port-la-Nouvelle is the fabulous long sandy beach that stretches north to Gruissan Plage and south to La Franqui, some say it is 10km long and others 20km! Parts of the beach are purely sand and water, so you need to take your towels, drinks and snacks! Other parts have cafes, restaurants and shops, in a nutshell it really has something for everyone.
Narbonne centre (30km) – The Cathedral dominates the main square, lots of restaurants, cafes, shops, the indoor market Les Halles is open daily until noon and is a great expereience especially in the restaurant area. The street market is on Sunday.
Sigean African Safari Park (16km) - A great family day out, either in your car (7.5km trail) or there are lots of animals you can see on foot. The animals are in large open spaces, book online before arriving in the summer months.
Abbaye de Fontfroide (40km) - One of France’s best preserved Cistercian monuments. The Abbey is open from March to December and there is also a very good restaurant on site as well as classical music concerts. Rennes-le-Chateau as featured in Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code and the other Cathar Castles - Queribus and Peyrepertuse - are within easy reach.
Perpignan (40km) - Once the seat of the King of Mallorca, today the capital town of the Pyrenees Orientales region also known as the the French part of Catalonia. Great restaurants, shops and café culture.
Beziers (60km) - Major market town and one of the oldest in France, noted for its bull-fight 'Feria' in August. Cathedral Saint Nazaire, tourist train to the famous "Les Neufs Ecluses"(Nine locks). Lots of great shops & restaurants.
Collioure (70km) - Collioure has been and still is, a source of inspiration for artists. Writers, poets, singers and painters fall under its charm - famous names such as Picasso, Matisse, Derain (the Masters of Fauvism - the style of Les Fauves - wild brushwork and strident colours), Dufy Chagall & Marquet all set up their easels here and immortalized the small Catalan harbour in their works. Get there early in the day as parking can be an issue or even better get the train from Port-la-Nouvelle or La Franqui.
Carcassonne (80km) - Includes the modern town as well as the Medieval Cité, which is in the Top 100 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is breathtaking. The Summer Festival in July offers an array of events.
Pezenas (80km) - A lovely Renaissance town with lots of cafes, bars, restaurants, artisan boutiques and a lively Saturday market.
Spain – Under an hour away to the border and beyond where there are many lovely coastal villages and large shopping outlets. The Dali Museum at Figueres is worth a visit.

We had a very nice week. The house matches the description perfectly. A little haven of peaceThe pictures don't lie about it...you get what you see and it's awesome!Highly recommended if you want to completely relax in a very quiet and beautiful location in a very quiet village. Our family and the family of our friends who were with us had a great time.We really appreciated the calm and the view of the water. The house is fully equipped and the swimming pool is very pleasant. The bedding is comfortable. The village of La Palme has a small grocery store/butcher and a bakery within walking distance of the house. Easy access to visit the surrounding areas.Very good times spent in this house in La Palme. Owner is always available for any questions, and proactive about places and restaurants to discover. The house is very well equipped (28 degree swimming pool and barbecue are real pluses)The only downside was that the vacation didn't last long enough. Don't hesitate, go for it! Comments from owners previous bookings. ( verified by South France Villas)
